The geographical situation of the company is ideal, its hometown being Russia’s second largest city and the country’s biggest sea port. St. Petersburg is also an important hub of railway and truck transport.
Nevskaya Co uses the following routes and methods of transportation to import fresh produce into Russia:
• by sea to the St. Petersburg Sea Port
• by trucks.
The produce is shipped by internationally known carriers such as APL, Evergreen, Maersk Sealand, Mediterranean, Mitsui O.S.K. Line, P&O Neddloyd, ZIM Isrel Navigation and others. Interior shipments are made by rail and trucks.
Given the existing deficit of storage space in St. Petersburg, the optimum planning and control of all logistical processes is of paramount importance to our business, fresh fruit and vegetables being perishable merchandise, sensitive to any disruption in shipping.
